In 1870, the Condurro family started a long lasting tradition of pizza mastery in the hearth of central Napoli

Michele Condurro, son of Salvatore, improved the family craft by learning the secrets from the famous masters of Torre Annunziata, experts in the making of pasta and the cooking of pizza. Michele opened the first pizzeria in 1906, where today the new Ascalesi Hospital building stands, whose construction forced Michele to move away. In fact, in 1930, the pizzeria was moved to its current placement at Via Cesare Sersale, which many experts and journalists consider “the Sacred Temple of Pizza”.
